Before selecting fabrics or developing patterns, we study how dogs move, how their anatomy differs from one breed to another, and how each garment should accompany rather than restrict natural motion.

Only then does design begin.

Refinement

Every collection begins with the dog rather than the garment. We study the anatomy of multiple dogs within the same breed, analysing proportions, movement and posture before the first sketch is ever drawn.

Working alongside our pattern maker, concepts are transformed into working patterns and tested on real dogs. Every prototype is refined to ensure unrestricted movement, allowing complete freedom through the shoulders, neck, back and tail.

Only once the structure has been perfected do we begin selecting materials. Fabrics are chosen according to the needs of each breed and the purpose of the garment, balancing comfort, breathability, protection and long-term wear before production begins.

Every fabric we choose tells a story and serves a purpose.

02 Performance

Performance precedes choice. Every textile is selected for its technical capabilities—from breathability and thermal insulation to water resistance and appropriate weight. Equal importance is given to how a fabric interacts with the dog's coat, minimising friction to help protect and preserve long and curly coats.

03 Heritage

Heritage outlives fashion. The finest textiles are defined not only by their composition, but by the generations of skill behind them. Noble tweeds, bouclés and fabrics from renowned mills continue to endure because true craftsmanship never becomes obsolete.

Purpose precedes design. Whether protecting against cold, wind or wet weather, or providing lightweight comfort in milder conditions, every garment begins with a clear purpose. Only then is the appropriate textile selected to fulfil that role. To understand the material is to understand the garment itself.

04 Responsable Sourcing

Responsibility begins with selection.
DVENTOTTO® operates with a strict anti-mulesing policy. Sourcing prioritises traceable materials such as Harris Tweed®, woven in the Outer Hebrides from British Wool produced under rigorous animal welfare standards. This same philosophy extends to the considered use of exceptional deadstock textiles.
